The Technical Engineering College at Al-Ayen Iraqi University held its annual student representative elections for the 2026-2027 academic year. The elections were overseen by the Dean of the college, Prof. Dr. Raed Nasr Al-Obaidi, and attended by the heads of the academic departments and the head of the Student Activities Unit.
The electoral process was conducted in a transparent and well-organized manner, ensuring students' freedom to choose their representatives through a formal mechanism that promotes student participation and reinforces the principles of democracy and responsibility within the university environment.
These elections reflect the college administration's commitment to strengthening the role of students in university life and providing them with opportunities to actively participate in conveying their opinions and suggestions. This contributes to the development of student activities and enhances communication between students and the administration.
This initiative aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) by promoting transparency and participation in decision-making and establishing institutional practices that involve students in representing their peers within the university environment.
