In recognition of his contributions and to perpetuate his memory, the Council of Al-Ayen Iraqi University decided to name one of its main halls after the late Dr. Hussein Jamil Al-Khafaji, in appreciation of his significant efforts in establishing and leading the department, in commemoration of his academic career, and the positive impact he had on his colleagues and students.
The hall was inaugurated in a grand ceremony attended by the University Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Haider A. Marhoon Al-Khafaji, his Academic Deputy, Prof. Dr. Naseer A. Hussein, several deans, members of the University Council, department heads, faculty members, the family of the deceased, and students.
The ceremony included eulogies recalling the life and contributions of the deceased, as well as the screening of a documentary film that revisited key moments in his career, in a scene that embodied loyalty to a man whose impact remains present despite his passing.
The hall's inauguration coincided with World Anesthesia Day, making this initiative a message of loyalty and gratitude, and an affirmation that those who leave a positive mark on the advancement of science will have their names live on in the memory of generations.
