The Chancellor of Al-Ayen Iraqi University, Prof. Dr. Haider A. Marhoon, accompanied by his Administrative Deputy, Prof. Dr. Atheer Y. Awda participated in the General Authority Assembly meeting of the Presidents of Private Universities and Colleges. The meeting was dedicated to discussing the unified admissions mechanism and the necessary preparations for the start of the application process for the 2026-2027 academic year. Also in attendance were the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Scientific Research Affairs, the Director General of the Department of Scholarships and Cultural Relations, and the Director General of the Department of Studies, Planning, and Follow-up.
The meeting reviewed several topics related to application, admission, and registration procedures, discussed the administrative and technical requirements for organizing the process, and addressed observations and inquiries regarding the operational mechanisms adopted by private universities and colleges.
In a related context, the Undersecretary congratulated Al-Ayen University on its inclusion in the Shanghai Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS 2026), praising the university's achievements in academic and research fields.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on several issues related to the admissions process and clarification of the relevant organizational and technical procedures to enhance coordination and standardize operational mechanisms among private higher education institutions.
