In the context of its strategy to enhance practical skills and bridge the gap between academic education and the professional environment, the College of Health and Medical Technologies at Al-Ayen Iraqi University launched its summer field training program for students at Al-Ayen Teaching Hospital. The program is managed by Sham Health, a leading Turkish company specializing in medical facility management.
This program is directly sponsored and supervised by the college's deanship and relevant central committees, reflecting their commitment to providing students with the necessary field support and supplying the health sector with highly qualified graduates capable of meeting the demands of the job market and healthcare institutions.
The training program featured extensive integration across various medical departments. Anesthesia technology students gained hands-on experience in operating rooms and intensive care units, learning about equipment management and medication protocols. Simultaneously, radiology and ultrasound students practiced diagnosing cases using modern imaging systems. Optometry students received training on the latest vision testing and refractive error detection equipment, while medical laboratory students focused on conducting complex clinical analyses using advanced automated testing techniques. The cosmetic and laser students also had a field visit to learn about modern clinical techniques for skin treatments, and the training scene concluded with the qualification of the industrial college students on the technical skills to operate dialysis units and the continuous monitoring of patients’ vital signs.
