Within the College of Engineering Technology's efforts to support scientific research and highlight the research output of its faculty, here we present the joint research of Dr. Ibrahim Talaat Nadhir, entitled:

Resource Efficient Hybrid Baseline for Named Entity Recognition in Classical Arabic

This research was published in the journal Scientific Reports, affiliated to the international publishing house Nature. The journal is ranked in the first quartile (Q1), with an impact factor of 4.9 and a CiteScore of 6.4, and was published in 2025.

The research focuses on developing a highly efficient hybrid model for recognizing named entities in classical Arabic texts. It employs artificial intelligence techniques and machine learning methods to achieve high accuracy while minimizing the required computing resources. This contributes to supporting natural language processing applications for Arabic and developing intelligent systems for Arabic texts.

This research reflects the interest of the College of Engineering Technology's employees to contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge and publishing in reputable international journals, thereby enhancing the academic and research presence of Al-Ayen Iraqi University.
