The College of Engineering Technology at Al-Ayen Iraqi University, in collaboration with the University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ) in Australia, organized the first workshop in its 2026 Summer Training Workshops Program, titled “Quantum Computing.” The workshop, presented by Dr. Shihab Abdullah was attended by 200 students.
The workshop covered the fundamentals of quantum computing, its operating principles, and the differences between it and traditional computing. It also reviewed its most prominent future applications in various technological fields, enriching the participants' scientific knowledge and introducing them to the latest developments in this area.
This workshop is part of a series of training workshops organized by the College of Engineering Technology to develop students' skills and enhance their understanding of modern technologies in collaboration with international academic institutions.
