A delegation from Al-Ayen Iraqi University visited Nasiriyah Central Prison to observe the examinations of inmates from the Colleges of Law and Physical Education and Sports Sciences, who are enrolled within a free scholarship program. The delegation was headed by the University Chancellor Prof. Dr. Haider A. Marhoon, and included his deputy for academic affairs, Prof. Dr. Naseer A. H. Al-Quraishi, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Maitham Talib Al-Mousawi. They inspected the inmates' classrooms and the examination procedures within the prison.
Prof. Dr. Marhoon emphasized the university's commitment to providing students with the opportunity to complete their university studies, recognizing the importance of education in developing scientific and intellectual capabilities and opening new pathways that contribute to building a better future for them. The visit also included a tour of the workshops and artistic and vocational projects undertaken by the inmates, which reflected aspects of the rehabilitation and training programs implemented within the prison.
