The Fuel and Energy Engineering Technology Department at the College of Engineering Technology, Al-Ayen Iraqi University, organized an interactive workshop titled “A Detailed Study: Flares in Refineries and Industrial Units.” The workshop, held under the auspices of the Dean of the College, Asst. Prof. Dr. Rafid S. Al-Jubouri was part of the Technical Engineer Development Program.
The workshop was presented by Chief Engineer Haider Jiyad and his accompanying delegation from the Dhi Qar Refinery. It covered the types of industrial flares, their classifications, and their operational mechanisms, in addition to showcasing the most prominent equipment used in refineries and industrial units.
In his address, the Dean emphasized the importance of such applied workshops in enhancing students' skills and aligning engineering education outcomes with labor market demands. He noted that this workshop reflects the College of Engineering Technology's ongoing commitment to developing its educational environment and strengthening its partnerships with industrial institutions.
