The College of Engineering Technology organized a workshop and field trip for second-year students of the Cybersecurity Engineering Technology Department to the Electronic Computing Center at Thi Qar University, under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Abbas Kamel. The aim was to enhance the practical aspects of the program and connect theoretical concepts with real-world technical applications.
The workshop focused on providing a scientific and practical explanation of network infrastructure and server management mechanisms, in addition to methods for securing data and protecting systems from cyberattacks. Emphasis was placed on the importance of network monitoring and the implementation of advanced security protocols in data centers.
This visit contributed to increasing the students' field experience and broadening their understanding of the role of cybersecurity engineers in technical institutions, aligning with the college's objectives of preparing qualified professionals capable of protecting the digital space.
