Prof. Dr. Adnan Atiq, Chancellor of the Southern Technical University, visited Al-Ayen Iraqi University to observe the joint ministerial examination for the Department of Fuel and Energy Engineering Technologies. This visit was part of the implementation of the scientific twinning agreement between the Basra Technical Engineering College, affiliated with the Southern Technical University, and the Technical Engineering College at Al-Ayen University.
He was accompanied during the visit by Asst. Prof. Dr. Nawras Jamil Jassim, Dean of the Basra Technical Engineering College, and several faculty members involved in administering the joint examination.
The visiting delegation was received by Prof. Dr. Haider A. Marhoon Chancellor of Al-Ayen University, Asst. Prof. Dr. Rafid S. A. Al-Jubouri Dean of the Technical Engineering College, his Deputy for Acedemic Affairs Asst. Prof. Dr. Raed N. Al-Obaidi, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ahmed N. Nimer the Head of the Department, and several other deans.
The visit included a review of the organizational and technical arrangements for administering the joint examination, as well as an inspection of the examination halls and the mechanisms for standardizing the questions and marking criteria between the two institutions.
Prof. Dr. Adnan Atiq affirmed that the joint exam embodies a practical application of the twinning agreement and contributes to unifying educational outcomes, while Prof. Dr. Haider A. Marhoon expressed the university’s pride in this visit, stressing the importance of expanding the horizons of scientific and academic cooperation between the two institutions.
