The College of Health and Medical Technologies organized a field visit for students of the Artificial Kidney Technology Department to Al-Hussein Teaching Hospital. The visit focused on the dialysis units, aiming to bridge the gap between theoretical studies and practical application, and to provide students with firsthand experience of the healthcare services offered to patients.
The students were accompanied by a group of specialized professors on a scientific tour that included observing modern dialysis machines, the operation of filters, and blood flow monitoring. A detailed explanation was provided on how to prepare the patient, connect the equipment, and monitor vital signs throughout the dialysis process to ensure the well-being of kidney failure patients. The students also learned about the central water treatment unit and its crucial role in ensuring the quality of the dialysis fluids used in the purification process.
This visit aimed to bridge the gap between the classroom and the real-world work environment, thereby enhancing the students' technical skills and preparing them to become highly qualified professionals capable of managing artificial kidney units efficiently and effectively upon graduation. This initiative is part of the college's development plans, which prioritize field experience to provide healthcare institutions in the governorate with technically competent personnel possessing both professional skills and a strong sense of compassion in dealing with chronic illnesses.
