The College of Engineering Technology at Al-Ayen Iraqi University holds a workshop on combating drugs

The College of Engineering Technology at Al-Ayen Iraqi University, in cooperation with the High Commission for Human Rights Dhi Qar Branch, and the Dhi Qar Health Department, held a workshop entitled: “Combating Drug Abuse: From a Punitive Approach to Building Sustainable Community and Psychological Immunity.” The workshop was presented by Dr. Mohammed Al-Hajami, physician Hussein Ali Kanan, and law specialist Sarmad Al-Khalidi.

The workshop comprised three main axes. Dr. Mohammed Al-Hajami addressed the psychological aspects and the consequences of drug abuse. Dr. Hussein Ali Kanan focused on the medical aspects, specifically the physical effects of drug abuse. Law specialist Sarmad Al-Khalidi presented an explanation of the legal aspects and the Iraqi legislature's perspective on the issue.

At the conclusion of the workshop, Dr. Ibrahim Talaat Nadhir, Head of the Cybersecurity Engineering Department, honored the presenters in appreciation of their contributions to enriching the workshop's scientific and educational content.
