On Tuesday, April 7, 2026, the College of Engineering at Al-Ayen Iraqi University signed a scientific and academic cooperation agreement with the Institute of Petroleum Engineering and Geology at Kazan Federal University. This step aims to broaden the horizons of international partnerships and enhance cooperation in engineering and applied fields.
The signing ceremony was attended by the University Chancellor Prof. Dr. Haider A. Marhoon, his Deputy for Acedemic Affairs Prof. Dr. Naseer Ali Hussein, the Dean of the College of Engineering Prof. Dr. Firas Faiq Kadhim, the Director of Scientific Affairs Asst. Prof. Dr. Maitham Talib Qasim, and several heads of academic departments.
The two parties discussed ways to develop joint cooperation, including the exchange of scientific expertise, the implementation of joint research, the development of curricula according to the latest international standards, the organization of workshops and scientific conferences, and the provision of academic exchange opportunities for students and faculty members.
Through this agreement, the university affirms its ongoing commitment to engaging with international universities, thereby contributing to the development of academic and research programs, enhancing the quality of educational outcomes, and strengthening its position at both the regional and international levels.
