On Sunday, April 5, 2026, Al-Ayen Iraqi University inaugurated its new flyover, which connects the main building with a new building within the university campus. Several prominent figures from the Dhi Qar Governorate attended the inauguration ceremony.
The Chancellor of Al-Ayen University Prof. Dr. Haider A. Marhoon received the dignitaries who included the Head of the Provincial Council, Mr. Azza Al-Nashi, the First Deputy Governor, Mr. Razzaq Kashish, the Head of the Dhi Qar Investment Authority Mr. Ali Al-Dakhili, the Director of Traffic for the Governorate Brigadier General Ziyad Al-Hasouna, and the Director of Civil Defense Brigadier General Ammar Jassim Al-Hasouna.
The opening ceremony took place in the College of Health and Medical Technologies building. The event began with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by a speech by Prof. Dr. Marhoon, who emphasized the university's strong commitment to expansion and infrastructure development, keeping pace with advancements in various fields.
This was followed by a speech by Mr. Razzaq Kashish, who praised the university's role in implementing service projects and providing a comprehensive university environment.
The flyover is a qualitative addition to the university’s infrastructure, as it contributes to facilitating the movement of students and teaching staff, since it connects the two colleges, thus enhancing the smooth flow of movement within the university campus. This project embodies the vision of Al-Ayen Iraqi University to establish an integrated university environment based on advanced infrastructure.
