As part of the activities of the University Psychological Counseling Division at the College of Education, a workshop entitled “How to Deal with Anxiety and Depression” was held. It was presented by Asst. Lecturer Tabarak Hisham Awda, and attended by the Head of the Division, Asst. Lecturer Sara Muhammad Abdul Khader, along with a number of faculty members and students.
The workshop aimed to highlight the concepts of anxiety and depression, explaining their most prominent causes and psychological and physical symptoms, as well as their impact on students' academic performance and daily lives. The presenter also addressed a range of scientific and practical methods for dealing with these disorders, such as time management, engaging in physical activities, emotional release, and fostering positive thinking.
The workshop witnessed significant interaction from the attendees through questions and comments. Many cases and situations faced by students in their university life were discussed, along with psychological guidance to help them cope better.
At the conclusion of the workshop, the importance of spreading psychological awareness within the university environment was emphasized, as well as strengthening the role of psychological counseling in supporting students and helping them overcome psychological challenges, thus contributing to achieving psychological balance and academic success.
