As part of its community outreach activities and in the spirit of giving during the holy month, a team of engineering students (Elite Group), under the supervision of the college deanship and accompanied by Dr. Ismail Abdul Hussein organized a field visit to a nursing home.
The visit included an interactive day with the residents, featuring dialogue sessions and recreational activities, in addition to a communal iftar meal shared by the students and residents to foster a warm and friendly atmosphere.
The team was accompanied by a medical staff consisting of a general practitioner and a dentist, who conducted medical examinations, provided health consultations and essential advice to the residents, and presented them with small gifts and symbolic items to enhance their sense of care and attention.
This initiative aligns with the SDG3: Good Health and Well-being. It contributes to promoting the physical and mental health of the elderly by providing medical examinations, health consultations, preventative advice, and organizing recreational and social activities that improve their mood and provide a supportive environment that ensures their overall well-being.
This initiative reflects the commitment of the College of Engineering at Al-Ayen Iraqi University to instill the values of solidarity and volunteering in its students, and to support the elderly segment of society, which contributes to strengthening human bonds and building a cohesive and interconnected society.
