The Continuing Education Division at the College of Health and Medical Technologies, Al-Ayen Iraqi University, in cooperation with the university's Continuing Education Center, organized a specialized scientific workshop entitled "The Effect of Hyper Blood on the Eye." The workshop was presented by Asst. Lecturer Qasim Aboud Yasser from the Department of Optometry Technologies, with the participation of several professors, staff members, and students.
The workshop included a detailed explanation of the close relationship between stable blood pressure and the health of the retina and the blood vessels supplying the eye. It reviewed the risks that may lead to vision deterioration or retinal hemorrhage as a result of a sudden or sustained increase in blood pressure levels. The workshop also addressed the physiological effects of high blood pressure and its role in constricting the tiny blood vessels within the eye, highlighting retinopathy caused by this condition and methods for its early detection.
These activities are part of the college's vision to enhance the practical application of medical sciences and connect them to real-world healthcare, contributing to the development of a skilled and knowledgeable technical workforce capable of providing the best medical services to the community.
