Al-Ayen Iraqi University, represented by its Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Haider A. Marhoon participated in the sixth session of the expanded periodic meeting of the Private Higher Education Council, hosted by Al-Zahraa ( PBUH) University in the holy city of Karbala. The meeting was chaired by the Undersecretary of Ministery of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Scientific Research Affairs, Prof. Dr. Haider Abu-Dahd.
The meeting witnessed a distinguished attendance from senior ministerial officials, including directors general of the departments of Research and Development, Scholarships and Cultural Relations, Legal Affairs, Reconstruction and Projects, Studies and Planning, and Private Higher Education, in addition to elite presidents of Iraqi private universities and colleges. The purpose of the meeting was to outline the features of the next phase of private education in Iraq.
Al-Ayen University's participation in this meeting reflects its ongoing commitment to enhancing academic rigor and developing the academic landscape. Participants discussed several strategic topics, most notably the development of admission plans and the modernization of admission policies to align with contemporary requirements and the demands of the labor market.
The meeting also discussed institutional integration through strengthening the partnership between public and private education to ensure the quality of educational outcomes. It addressed organizational and legal matters, including academic promotions, tax accounting, university infrastructure development, and transparency and regulation. This included studying standardized admission timelines to ensure the highest levels of organization between the public and private sectors.
Through its active participation in these forums, Al-Ayen Iraqi University affirms its full commitment to the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research aimed at advancing the private sector as a key partner and strong support for public education. This commitment is based on the university's scientific capabilities and advanced infrastructure, which serve the educational process in our beloved country.
