The University Psychological Counseling Unit at the College of Health and Medical Technologies, Al-Ayen Iraqi University, organized an awareness workshop entitled "Psychological Immunity Against the Scourge of Drugs." The workshop was presented by the college's media officer, Noor Dhiaa Talib, and attended by a number of faculty members and students.
The workshop aimed to strengthen the concept of psychological immunity among students as the first line of defense against pressures and challenges that could lead to drug abuse. During his presentation, the speaker addressed the most prominent psychological and social factors that contribute to the spread of this scourge, as well as its negative effects on the individual, the family, and society.
The workshop also reviewed a range of practical methods for boosting self-confidence, developing sound decision-making skills, and the importance of choosing positive companions. The role of the family and the educational institution in prevention and guidance was also discussed.
The workshop witnessed significant student engagement through questions and comments, with participants emphasizing the importance of continuing such awareness activities, which contribute to building a safe university environment and protecting young people psychologically and intellectually from negative behaviors.
