The College of Engineering – Fuel and Energy Department at Al-Ayen University organized a scientific visit to the Dhi Qar Oil Refinery, accompanied by Dr. Fouad Mohammed Fouad and Asst. Prof. Ali Jaafar. The visit aimed to enhance students' practical experience and familiarize them with the operational mechanisms of oil processing units.
The visit included a field tour of the main production facilities, encompassing the crude oil receiving stages, the separation and pre-treatment units, and the operational measurement and control systems. Students also learned about key petroleum products and the refinery's operational management mechanisms. Additionally, they attended a specialized lecture on occupational safety and health and work procedures in industrial environments.
This scientific trip is part of the university's efforts to foster cooperation with the oil sector, bridging the gap between theory and practice and preparing qualified engineering professionals capable of serving the oil and energy sector with high efficiency.
