A delegation from Al-Ayen Iraqi University met with representatives from Elsevier, a global research organization, in Cairo to discuss ways to strengthen their strategic partnership and develop the university's scientific journals to ensure their presence on international research platforms.
The delegation was headed by the university Chancellor Prof. Dr. Haider A. Marhoon, alongside his Deputy for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Naseer A. Hussein, and the Dean of the College of Engineering Prof. Dr. Firas F. Kadhim. The delegation held a technical meeting with Elsevier's advisory team, led by Dr. Islam Khalil, to discuss performance indicators for journals hosted on the Digital Commons platform and plans to improve the quality of scientific publications to meet the requirements of Scopus.
During the discussions, Prof. Dr. Marhoon emphasized that these steps are part of the university's vision to achieve global performance. He noted that integration with a prestigious organization like Elsevier opens up broad horizons for Iraqi researchers to gain international exposure and directly contributes to raising the university's ranking in global academic circles.
The two parties agreed on a roadmap to intensify technical and advisory support to enhance the efficiency of the university's digital platform, thus serving the advancement of rigorous scientific research in Iraq and the region.
For its part, the Elsevier consulting team commended the advanced level and high professionalism demonstrated by Al-Ayen University's journals in their scientific and technical performance, emphasizing that adherence to international quality standards makes these journals a force to be reckoned with in the international publishing landscape.
The organization concluded its praise by commending the editorial board of Al-Ayen Iraqi University's journal, appreciating its high level of competence in managing the editorial process, which is a fundamental pillar of the university's success in international publishing.
