In its continuous endeavor to align education with labor market demands, the College of Engineering Technology organized an interactive workshop titled "Bridge of Competence: From the Classroom to the Professional Labor Market." The workshop brought together the Industrial Advisory Council (employers) and students from various departments within the College of Engineering Technology.
The workshop aimed to familiarize students with the realities of the labor market and the adopted modern technologies. It also sought to foster partnerships with the industrial sector by presenting real-world, applicable problems as graduation projects and by assessing learning outcomes related to soft skills, design thinking, and professional ethics.
The workshop program included several segments, such as dialogue sessions led by members of the Advisory Council, an interactive break for direct communication between students and employers, and brainstorming sessions where students were divided according to their specializations to discuss technical challenges in the fields of cybersecurity, medical devices, energy, and mechanics, with a focus on practical and applied solutions. The workshop concluded with the announcement of a selection of industry-supported graduation project titles and an emphasis on the importance of continued collaboration between the college and professional institutions to enhance curricula and prepare students to enter the labor market effectively and competently.
