In the context of meeting the graduation requirements for fourth-year students, the College of Engineering at Al-Ayen Iraqi University conducted its semi-annual evaluation of the graduation projects of petroleum engineering students. This evaluation aimed to assess the progress achieved and monitor the scientific and practical advancements in their research projects.
The evaluation sessions were attended by specialized scientific committees comprised of faculty members from the department. During these sessions, the approved research plans were reviewed, the theoretical and applied aspects of the projects were discussed, and the progress, adherence to scientific methodology, and accuracy of preliminary data analysis were assessed.
The graduation projects covered a diverse range of topics within petroleum and energy engineering, including exploration and production technologies, oil field management and performance optimization, drilling techniques, reservoir treatment, and improving the efficiency of oil operations. These projects align with labor market demands and the current challenges facing the oil sector.
The students presented preliminary scientific presentations outlining the project background, research objectives, implementation plans, and initial indicators of expected results. The evaluation provided students with scientific guidance and offered necessary feedback and recommendations to further develop and optimize their projects in subsequent phases.
This semi-annual evaluation comes as part of the College of Engineering’s commitment to enhancing the quality of graduation projects, raising the scientific level of its students, and linking the academic aspect with practical applications, in order to prepare competent engineers capable of serving the oil and energy sector.
