Prof. Dr. Adnan A. Al-Khafaji, Dean of the College of Medicine at Al-Ayen Iraqi University, held an extensive meeting with a number of employers and relevant stakeholders to strengthen the partnership between the academic institution and the labor market institutions.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Ahmed Ghani Al-Khafaji Head of the Health Committee in the Provincial Council, Mr. Ahmed Farhan Al-Khafaji Head of the Education Committee in the Provincial Council, Asst. Prof. Dr. Abdul Hassan Al-Niyazi Head of the Doctors Syndicate, Professor Dr. Hadi Faleh Hassan Head of the Academics Syndicate, Dr. Abdul Murtafa Ibrahim Al-Jabri Head of the Otolaryngology (ENT) Doctors Association and Mr. Ahmed Abdul Wahid Bunyan Head of the Businessmen's Union.
During the meeting, discussions focused on the current state of medical education and ways to develop the outcomes of the College of Medicine to align with the needs of the health sector and contribute to preparing doctors with the scientific and practical competence to keep pace with modern developments in the medical field.
Professor Dr. Al-Khafaji emphasized the importance of integration between the College of Medicine, health institutions, and professional associations, noting that this cooperation is a fundamental pillar for advancing the educational process and achieving comprehensive quality, as well as enhancing students' practical training and aligning curricula with internationally recognized standards in medical education.
For their part, the attendees expressed their full support for the College of Medicine's efforts, stressing the need to unify visions and work together to improve the educational and training environment and develop academic programs in a way that serves the students' best interests and enhances the level of healthcare services provided to the community.
In conclusion, the attendees approved the College of Medicine's scientific and research plan for the 2025-2026 academic year and agreed on establishing joint work mechanisms and continuing coordination and communication among all parties. This aims to contribute to advancing the medical profession and achieving sound educational outcomes that meet the demands of the healthcare sector and keep pace with international standards.
The meeting concluded with the distribution of certificates of appreciation by the Chairman of the Advisory Council and Dean of the College of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Al-Khafaji.
