The College of Pharmacy held its fifth meeting (open session) of the College Council, chaired by the Dean of the College Dr. Haider Al-Anbari, and attended by all council members. Several important academic and administrative issues on the agenda were discussed.

The meeting began with a review of the implementation of the decisions from the fourth session, including progress on previous recommendations and a discussion of responses from the academic departments and relevant committees.

The council also discussed the proposed teaching plans for the second semester, reviewed the class schedules and workload ratios, and approved the teaching assignments for theoretical and practical courses to ensure a balanced workload, consideration of specialization, and fulfillment of the curriculum requirements.

The meeting also addressed the progress of the final examinations for the first semester of the 2025-2026 academic year, which ran from January 27 to February 18, for all academic levels except the first year.

The session included presentations of reports from the academic departments and administrative units, a discussion of curriculum completion rates, progress in supervising graduation projects, and an evaluation of the current state of e-learning and the uploading of lectures to the university platform.

 The council also discussed preparations for the first-year semester exams, student affairs, academic advising reports, attendance tracking and practical performance, as well as the approval and monitoring of graduation projects for fifth-year students and support for projects with an applied and community focus.

The meeting also covered topics such as quality assurance and academic accreditation, scientific and research activities, the university library and reading activities, and a review of memoranda of understanding and local and international academic partnerships.

At the end of the session, the council discussed several other topics, including faculty affairs, evaluation of academic committee performance, and the results of the Iraqi national ranking, emphasizing its ongoing commitment to advancing the scientific and academic progress of the College of Pharmacy.
