The Department of Radiological Technology at the College of Health and Medical Technologies, Al-Ayen Iraqi University, organized a scientific trip to Al-Thaqalayn Oncology Hospital in Basra Province. A number of faculty members and students from the department participated in this trip, which was part of the department's efforts to enhance practical experience and learn about advanced clinical applications in the field of medical radiology.
It aimed to familiarize participants with the latest technologies and equipment used in the diagnosis and treatment of tumors, particularly medical imaging and radiotherapy techniques. It also aimed to provide insight into the operational procedures within specialized centers and the established radiation safety standards.
The program included a field tour to the diagnostic radiology and radiotherapy units, with presentations by specialized medical staff on the role of radiological technology in the early detection of tumors and treatment plans. Discussions also addressed practical challenges and ways to improve professional performance.
