{In it is healing for mankind} – Surah An-Nahl: 69
From the womb of scientific collaboration, distinguished initiatives are born. A twinning agreement was signed between the College of Pharmacy at Al-Ayen Iraqi University and the College of Pharmacy at Thi Qar University. In pursuit of consolidating scientific integration and developing the academic environment, the former College signed a twinning agreement with the latter. The signing took place in the presence and with the blessing of the deans of both colleges: Dr. Haider Al-Anbari and Dr. Firas Fadhil Al-Yassin, and with the support of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, represented by the Supervision and Evaluation Authority.
The agreement includes a number of clauses that enhance cooperation in the fields of teaching, scientific research, and postgraduate studies, including:
Unifying curricula and exchanging academic expertise.
Conducting specialized research and publishing it in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
Organizing joint conferences and training workshops.
Holding diverse student and cultural events.
Supporting administrative development and quality assurance programs.
The agreement also addressed intellectual property rights, emphasizing the confidentiality of the outputs and granting each party the right to use them for teaching and research purposes without compromising the principle of partnership. It also included dispute resolution mechanisms and conditions for extension or termination, ensuring the continuity of the project and adherence to commitments.
Both parties expressed their hope that this twinning would be a beacon illuminating the paths of knowledge and a source of renewed vitality and innovation for the academic landscape, reflecting the sentiment that "where medicine is loved, so too is humanity."
Every joint research project, every exchanged lecture, and every student confidently working in their laboratory is a building block in the edifice of a nation that believes knowledge is medicine, and that healing begins in the classroom before it reaches the patient's bedside.
Thus, Iraqi universities persevere, despite the challenges, with the steadfastness of those who believe that "knowledge alone is not enough; it must be accompanied by determination."
