On November 3, 2025, the Chancellor of Al-Ayen Iraqi University, Prof. Dr. Haider A. Marhoon received a delegation from the Iraqi Department of Reformation, Ministry of Justice. The delegation, headed by the Director of the Department of Relations, Mr. Abbas Barisim Kitan, and accompanied by the Director of Nasiriyah Central Prison, Mr. Hussein Ahmed Abniya expressed their gratitude for the university's initiative to provide 50 free seats for inmates at Nasiriyah Central Prison.
The meeting focused on the role of university education programs in rehabilitating inmates, emphasizing the humanitarian aspect that contributes to improving their conditions and developing their capabilities.
The university chancellor explained that the university's initiative was part of its efforts to contribute to the rehabilitation of inmates and strengthen the humanitarian aspect of their lives. He stressed the importance of ongoing cooperation between educational institutions and reformation departments to achieve the best results in the reintegration process.
At the end of the visit, the university chancellor expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Department of Reform, presenting them with the university plaque. The Department of Reformation Delegation, in turn, expressed their appreciation for the initiatives launched by the university, which significantly contributed to raising the academic and vocational level of the inmates.
