The College of Engineering Technology participated in a blood donation campaign in cooperation with the Dhi Qar Health Department / Blood Bank in the province, in support of thalassemia patients and those in need of regular blood transfusions.
The campaign witnessed a vast impact from college members and students, who embodied, with their humanitarian spirit, the values of solidarity, volunteering, and their commitment to serving the community.
This initiative is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly:
• Goal No. 3 (Good Health and Well-being): by contributing to saving the lives of patients and supporting the continuity of treatment.
• Goal No. 17 (Partnerships to achieve the Goals): by strengthening cooperation between educational and healthcare institutions to serve the community.
• Goal No. 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions): by spreading the culture of volunteering and community solidarity.
The campaign organizers emphasized that this step represents a model of positive cooperation between the university and state institutions and contributes to consolidating the role of higher education in supporting community health and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
