As part of the summer training program for students from the Petroleum Engineering Department of the College of Engineering, a supervisory visit was organized to training sites at the Fields and Operations Authority of the Basra Oil Company. The visit was directly supervised by Dr. Abdul Hussein Nemah, who accompanied the students to several specialized sites to review the progress of the training process and enhance their practical skills.
The visit included the Production and Field Testing and Measurement Divisions, where theoretical and practical lectures were given in the testing workshops, along with a field tour of the isolation facilities to understand the working mechanisms within the fields.
The Drilling Engineering Department was also visited, where students completed their training on drilling operations and drilling fluids. A meeting was also held with the Drilling Department Manager to discuss field and practical aspects related to the students' specializations.
At the end of the tour, the students were taken on a field visit to the geochemistry laboratories in the Geology and Geological Studies Department of the Fields and Operations Authority to review the geological tests and analyses related to oil fields. This visit comes as part of the department's commitment to enhancing practical skills and linking theoretical knowledge with field experience, ensuring students are prepared for the oil job market after graduation.
