The Department of AI Engineering in the College of Engineering organized a field visit to the Nasiriyah Steam Power Plant for first-year students. The visit was supervised by a number of department instructors. It was part of scientific activities aimed at enhancing students' practical skills.
The visit included an overview of the plant's operating mechanism and the stages of electrical power generation, an introduction to operating and control systems, and an explanation of the role of artificial intelligence in improving work efficiency and troubleshooting.
This visit comes in support of the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically Goal No. Seven (7): "Clean Energy," which seeks to ensure access to reliable, sustainable, and modern energy services at an affordable cost for all.
The station staff provided detailed explanations of the technologies used, which contributed to broadening the students' horizons and linking theoretical information to practical reality.
At the conclusion of the visit, the instructors expressed their thanks to the station management for their cooperation and warm welcome, emphasizing the importance of these visits in supporting the academic progress of the department's students.
