The College of Engineering Technology Council held its sixth session on Saturday, March 11, 2025, chaired by the Dean of the College, Asst. Prof. Dr. Rafid S. Al-Jubouri, and attended by Council members.
The Council began its discussions by stressing the importance of monitoring student absences and addressing cases of non-attendance in accordance with approved procedures. The Council also reviewed the preparations of the Medical Devices Engineering and Computer Engineering departments for the joint subject exams scheduled for March 17, 2025, stressing the need to provide all necessary requirements to ensure the smooth running of the exams, including preparing exam halls and providing a sufficient number of supervisors. In this context, the Council Chairman recommended addressing all potential obstacles facing these exams, particularly student absences, by summoning the parents of students who fail to attend and obtaining a pledge not to repeat the absence.
The results of the first semester exams for the first stage in all departments were also discussed, and the mechanism for processing grades that are still being processed was studied to ensure accuracy and speed. In addition, the Council discussed the assignments of teaching staff for the second semester in all departments to ensure the stability of the educational process.
As part of monitoring student commitment, the Council discussed a list of students in the second, third, and fourth years of the Computer Engineering Technology Department who had high absence rates in certain subjects. Appropriate measures were discussed to address these cases in accordance with the approved regulations and instructions, ensuring students' regular attendance at their lectures and achieving the desired academic benefits.
At the conclusion of the session, the Council emphasized the importance of following up on the implementation of all approved recommendations to ensure the achievement of the desired academic and administrative goals and to enhance the educational process at the college.
