Prof. Dr. Shafik S. Shafik, Chancellor of Al-Ayen Iraqi University, held an expanded meeting on Sunday, October 13, 2024, with the staff of the College of Engineering and the College of Engineering Technology, in the presence of the Director of the Scientific Affairs Department, Dr. Maitham T. Al-Moussawi.
The meeting included the participation of faculty and administrative staff from the two colleges and discussions focused on developing academic and administrative performance and setting priorities for the next stage.
The meeting focused on improving the quality of education in the two colleges, by updating the curricula in line with the needs of the local and global market and paying attention to practical aspects that would qualify students to keep pace with modern technological developments. The attendees also discussed enhancing scientific research capabilities and supporting research projects that contribute to solving local community problems and developing industry in Iraq.
Prof. Dr. Shafik stressed the importance of unifying efforts between the two colleges to improve the quality of education, pointing out the need to adhere to international academic standards in teaching and evaluation. He pointed out that the university is striving to provide a distinguished educational environment by developing infrastructure and laboratories and enhancing cooperation with industrial institutions.
In conclusion, it was agreed to follow up on the implementation of the recommendations reached and to continue periodic meetings to review the progress made and ensure the achievement of the desired goals.
