The Director of the Student Activities Department at Al-Ayen Iraqi University, Assit. Prof. Dr. Hussein M. Taama participated in the first consultative meeting for the academic year 2024-2025 for student activities departments and branches at the University of Al-Zahra (PBUH) for girls in the holy city of Karbala.
The meeting was held under the auspices of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research / the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority - the Student Activities Department, in the presence of the Deputy President of the University for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Zuhair Muhammad Ali Jadou. During the meeting, and in solidarity with what southern Lebanon is going through from Zionist aggression, a minute of silence was observed for the souls of the martyrs and in denunciation of the crimes against humanity and rights.
In the presence of the directors of student activities departments and branches in Iraqi public and private universities, which is considered one of the most important meetings that discuss ways to advance student activities in universities, which would upgrade the student talents and develop them by holding competitions, organizing workshops and various training courses, providing the necessary capabilities, providing great support and motivation for volunteer work, and establishing the foundations of joint cooperation between various governmental and private bodies and institutions.
During the meeting, many issues were discussed and the problems facing the activities of the departments and branches related to student activities in all universities were resolved through a discussion session chaired by the Head of the Student Activities Department in the Ministerial Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority, Eng. Dr. Ammar Hamid Al-Zubaidi, Prof. Dr. Firas Ali Hassan, Head of the Technical Committee, Dr. Naaman Al-Khazraji, Head of the Media Committee, and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Subaih Mahmoud, a member of the Technical Activities Committee, where the pending issues were discussed and the necessary solutions, proposals and recommendations were put forward, as well as how to present the activities within the framework of implementing their plans and programs to ensure their effective and sustainable success.
