On Monday, May 20, 2024, the Chancellor of Al-Ayen Iraqi University, Prof. Dr. Shafik S. Shafik received the director of the Nasiriyah Central Prison, Hussein Ahmed Beniya, and his accompanying delegation in his office.
After welcoming the guest delegation, a number of topics were discussed, most notably joint cooperation in holding a special exhibition for inmates’ products and facilitating procedures for inmates studying who have completed their preparatory studies and aspire to obtain a bachelor’s degree. The University Chancellor confirmed that the university is fully prepared to cooperate with Nasiriyah Central Prison in a way that serves the public interest and is seeking to mitigate the obstacles to this cooperation.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Chancellor of the University for Scientific Affairs Asst. Prof. Dr. Haider A. Marhoon, the Deputy Chancellor of the University for Administrative Affairs Prof. Dr. Atheer Y. Odeh, the Dean of the College of Dentistry Asst. Prof. Dr. Ihsan A. Al-Khuzaie, the Dean of the College of Engineering Prof. Dr. Firas Faeq, and the Dean of the Engineering Technical College, Rafid. Sakban Al-Jubouri, Assistant Dean of Dentistry Prof. Dr. Naseer Ali Hussein, and Head of the Scientific Affairs Department Dr. Maitham Al-Moussawi.
