1.3.5 Low or lower-middle income countries student support
Al-Ayen Iraqi University is committed to supporting students from low and lower-middle-income countries by providing full scholarships, reflecting its dedication to accessible and inclusive education. In 2023, the university finalized a strategic plan to welcome non-Iraqi students from from low and lower-middle-income countries (such as Yemen, Syria, Sudan, ect...) through scholarships across diverse academic fields, including medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, petroleum engineering, and other health and technical disciplines. By offering financial support, Al-Ayen University actively reduces barriers for students from disadvantaged economic backgrounds, allowing them to pursue quality education in Iraq. Established in 2017, the university is recognized in global rankings such as Webometrics, RUR, and Times Impact, and has developed cooperative agreements with several national and international institutions, underscoring its commitment to fostering global education and advancing SDG 1 by empowering students from lower-income countries.
