Al-Ayen Iraqi University is dedicated to fostering a culture of lifelong learning by hosting a variety of educational events open to the general public. Al-Ayen University hosted the inaugural Dhi Qar International Conference on Dentistry, organized by the Iraqi Dental Association. The conference welcomed over 14 speakers from Iraq and abroad, with notable attendees including Dr. Abu Bakr Ziad Al-Rawi, President of the Iraqi Dental Association, and Assistant Professor Dr. Ihsan Abdullah Kamel Al-Khuzai, Dean of Al-Ayen University's College of Dentistry. In his opening remarks, Dr. Al-Khuzai highlighted the university's achievements and expressed hopes for actionable recommendations from the conference. This initiative aligns with SDG 4 by fostering academic exchange and collaboration. The College of Dentistry, in collaboration with Al-Ayen University's Continuing Education Center and the Alpha Medical Team, organized a first aid workshop. The workshop covered essential first aid practices such as handling fainting, drowning, choking, and CPR techniques for adults, children, and infants. Participants engaged in hands-on practice to build confidence and skill in emergency care. This initiative aligns with SDG 4 by fostering practical healthcare knowledge. The College of Dentistry at Al-Ayen University organized several activities, including a scientific poster exhibition, an art display, and a flower show. Additionally, the university provided free dental consultations to students, faculty, and community members at the Specialized Dental Teaching Hospital. The events were inaugurated by the University President, Dr. Shafiq Shakir Shafiq Al-Mawla, along with the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Dr. Ihsan Abdullah Kamil Al-Khuzaie, and other faculty members and students. The College of Engineering Technology welcomed a delegation of 30 female students from the Martyr Mustafa Jamal Vocational High School. The visit included tours of key college labs, such as Electrical Fundamentals and Computer Labs, where students observed equipment and hands-on experiments under the guidance of lab supervisors. Professors provided informative lectures, introducing the labs and answering students' questions. In alignment with Al-Ayen University's commitment to enhancing academic and scientific engagement, the university sponsored the 5th Scientific Forum of the Spring Heart Center, held jointly at Al-Ayen University and the College of Medicine at Dhi Qar University. The forum attracted a wide range of academic experts from various Iraqi medical schools and prominent figures in cardiology, including Prof. Peter Currie from the UK and members of the British Heart and Hypertension Society. The event featured discussions on advanced cardiology topics such as heart failure, coronary procedures, and innovative treatments, supporting SDG 4 by fostering educational growth in the medical community. Under the patronage of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Yasser Al-Aboudi, and with the supervision of the President of the Supervision and Scientific Evaluation Authority, Prof. Dr. Salah Al-Fatlawi, and the President of Al-Farahidi University, Prof. Dr. Tariq Al-Khayyat, the Student Activities Department held a meeting with Iraqi university representatives. Attended by over 80 public and private universities, the meeting discussed strategies to enhance student activities and address challenges from previous programs, aiming to foster a more engaging and supportive environment. Optometry Department at the College of Health and Medical Technologies welcomed students and staff from Asad Baghdad School for Distinguished Students. Dr. Ali Kazem Wadih, Head of the Department, along with faculty members, guided the students through the laboratories, demonstrating the advanced equipment and conducting necessary eye exams. They provided guidance on eye health and safety practices, emphasizing preventive measures.
