Al-Ayen Iraqi University is dedicated to fostering a culture of lifelong learning by hosting a variety of educational events open to the general public. These events serve as valuable opportunities for community members to engage in knowledge-sharing activities, attend lectures on diverse topics, and participate in discussions that broaden their understanding of important issues. By making these events accessible to everyone, Al-Ayen Iraqi University demonstrates its commitment to inclusive education and community enrichment, enhancing public access to educational resources and fostering a deeper connection between the university and society.
1. The Continuing Education Center at Al-Ayen Iraqi University has launched its first training program aimed at developing the capacities of faculty members and enhancing their academic and research skills. The program’s lectures were conducted via the Zoom platform, following a predesigned schedule and curriculum. It comprises six main modules that cover various aspects of academic knowledge. The program includes a wide range of topics, starting with the fundamentals of scientific research, followed by methods for writing research papers and approaches to securing research funding. It also covers curriculum development, quality standards in teaching and learning, and concludes with how to lead multidisciplinary and international research teams. More than 30 local and international lecturers from several countries are participating in the program. The initiative has attracted considerable attention, with over 500 participants registering from various universities and educational and research institutions, both within Iraq and abroad.

2. Al-Ayen Iraqi University has provided open access to its training program. The Continuing Education Center at Al-Ayen Iraqi University implemented the third week of its training program via Zoom, dedicated to developing the skills of faculty members. The program included a series of specialized lectures delivered by a distinguished group of academics and experts from Arab and international universities. The program aims to enhance the competence of faculty members and equip them with essential skills in research, funding, and curriculum development, thereby contributing to improving the overall quality of education at Al-Ayen Iraqi University

3. Optometry Department at the College of Health and Medical Technologies welcomed students and staff from Asad Baghdad School for Distinguished Students. Dr. Ali Kazem Wadih, Head of the Department, along with faculty members, guided the students through the laboratories, demonstrating the advanced equipment and conducting necessary eye exams. They provided guidance on eye health and safety practices, emphasizing preventive measures. This initiative aligns SDG 4 by offering students hands-on learning experiences in healthcare settings, enriching their educational journey.

4. The College of Engineering Technology welcomed a delegation of 30 female students from the Martyr Mustafa Jamal Vocational High School. The visit included tours of key college labs, such as Electrical Fundamentals and Computer Labs, where students observed equipment and hands-on experiments under the guidance of lab supervisors. Professors provided informative lectures, introducing the labs and answering students' questions. This initiative, overseen by Dr. Raed Nasr Al-Ubaidi, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, and Dr. Moudhi Luftha, Head of Computer Engineering Technologies, aligns with SDG 4 by promoting access to educational resources and inspiring young students in STEM fields.

5. The seminar titled “Promoting a Culture of Participation in Decision-Making”, organized by the Center for Continuing Education at Al-Ayen Iraqi University, reflects the university’s commitment to advancing transparency, inclusivity, and participatory governance within academic and social contexts. The lecture, delivered by Asst. Lecturer Abdulrahman Al-Battat, explored the importance of public participation in decision-making, emphasizing that involving all community members, regardless of background or identity, promotes democracy, accountability, and social trust. He highlighted how participatory practices strengthen belonging, cooperation, and social cohesion, while ensuring decisions reflect diverse perspectives and needs.

6. The training course titled “Law of Discipline for State and Public Sector Employees (Law No. 14 of 1991, as Amended)”, organized by the College of Law at Al-Ayen Iraqi University, represents a significant step toward strengthening institutional governance and administrative efficiency within the higher education sector. The sessions covered key principles, legal definitions, and procedural mechanisms outlined in the law, providing participants with tools to implement effective and fair administrative practices within the university system. 7. The Center for Continuing Education, in cooperation with the Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental Protection Unit and the College of Pharmacy at Al-Ayen Iraqi University, organized a training course on community first aid. The session, attended by Dr. Abeer Abdul Jalil Ibrahim and pharmacy students, focused on teaching essential life-saving skills such as treating burns, wounds, fractures, bleeding, choking, and performing CPR. Participants also learned to use basic medical tools and respond quickly in emergencies. The course aimed to empower individuals with practical first aid knowledge, contributing to community safety and public health awareness.

8. Under the patronage of Dr. Rafid Sakban Abboud, Dean of the College of Engineering Technology, and supervised by Dr. Raed Nasr Al-Obaidi, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, the college held its first student scientific workshop titled “Introduction to the World of Artificial Intelligence.” The session, presented by students Ali Rashad Sajit and Abbas Adel Shakir from the Computer Engineering Department, launched a weekly series of scientific workshops for the second semester. The workshop introduced AI concepts, applications, and technologies such as machine learning and deep learning, highlighting their roles in medicine, industry, and defense. The dean praised the initiative, emphasizing its value in enhancing students’ scientific knowledge and career readiness.

Al-Ayen University hosted the inaugural Dhi Qar International Conference on Dentistry, organized by the Iraqi Dental Association. The conference welcomed over 14 speakers from Iraq and abroad, with notable attendees including Dr. Abu Bakr Ziad Al-Rawi, President of the Iraqi Dental Association, and Assistant Professor Dr. Ihsan Abdullah Kamel Al-Khuzai, Dean of Al-Ayen University's College of Dentistry. In his opening remarks, Dr. Al-Khuzai highlighted the university's achievements and expressed hopes for actionable recommendations from the conference. This initiative aligns with SDG 4 by fostering academic exchange and collaboration. The College of Dentistry, in collaboration with Al-Ayen University's Continuing Education Center and the Alpha Medical Team, organized a first aid workshop. The workshop covered essential first aid practices such as handling fainting, drowning, choking, and CPR techniques for adults, children, and infants.
