2. Al-Ayen Iraqi University demonstrates a strong institutional commitment to opposing all forms of forced labour, modern slavery, human trafficking, and child labour, in alignment with Iraq’s national laws and international human rights conventions. Through its academic and community initiatives, the university promotes awareness, legal education, and ethical responsibility among students and staff. For instance, the College of Law, in collaboration with the Iraqi Political Science Association in Dhi Qar, held a seminar titled “Crimes of the Baath Party: Between Reality and Aspiration” on April 8, 2024. The event addressed key legal and moral themes, including genocide, arbitrary killings, torture, and forced displacement, as well as relevant Iraqi laws criminalizing such acts. The seminar emphasized the ethical obligation of academia to teach these subjects within a framework of justice, human dignity, and the rejection of all forms of exploitation.
