Al-Ayen Iraqi University – SDG 11 Progress Report (2024)
1. The Department of Student Activities at Al-Ayen Iraqi University earned third place among Iraqi universities and colleges in the Sustainability Scouts Camp held in Nineveh Governorate from October 14–19, 2024, with participation from over 20 institutions nationwide. Led by Dr. Hussein Muhibis Tu’ma, the university’s female scout team excelled in diverse sustainability-focused and cultural activities. This achievement reflects the university’s dedication to fostering student skills, teamwork, and environmental awareness, supporting SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and SDG 13 (Climate Action).

2. Department of Biomedical Engineering at Al-Ayen Iraqi University organized a cultural visit to the ancient city of Ur and the Sumerian Theater to enhance students’ awareness of Iraq’s rich heritage. The activity connected cultural understanding with academic learning, supporting SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities).
