As part of its ongoing efforts to monitor and develop university psychological counseling services, the Central Committee for University Psychological Counseling at Al-Ayen Iraqi University, headed by Master Lecturer Sara Mohammed Abdul Khader, the committee's coordinator, visited the University Psychological Counseling Unit at the College of Engineering.
The visit aimed to assess the current state of counseling services at the College of Engineering, review the implementation mechanisms of counseling programs and plans, and examine the student psychological counseling files, particularly those of first-year students, to ensure they were organized according to the university's regulations and guidelines.
The visit also included direct meetings with first-year engineering students, during which the role and importance of university psychological counseling in supporting students psychologically and academically were explained. The committee emphasized the importance of helping students adapt to university life and overcome challenges they may face at the beginning of their studies.
During the visit, the Central Committee stressed the crucial role of the College of Engineering in activating university psychological counseling services and the necessity of continued cooperation between the college administration and the University Psychological Counseling Unit to contribute to a healthy and psychologically safe university environment that supports the educational process.
This visit comes as part of the efforts of Al-Ayen Iraqi University to monitor the performance of the university’s psychological counseling departments in its colleges, and to improve the level of counseling services provided to students, in line with the university’s educational goals.
