As part of its commitment to enhancing the guidance and educational aspects of its students, the Department of Laser and Optoelectronic Engineering held an orientation seminar for first-year students entitled "University Familiarization for First-Year Students." The seminar aimed to support new students and prepare them for integration into university life.
The seminar addressed several key topics, most notably mechanisms for positive interaction with the university environment on both a personal and academic level, the importance of adhering to university regulations and instructions, and the students' role in self-development and building scientific and personal skills that align with the demands of university life.
The seminar also focused on reinforcing the concepts of academic discipline, developing self-confidence, and taking responsibility, given their direct impact on achieving success and academic excellence.
The seminar was presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Tuqa Abdul-Razzaq, who presented a set of targeted guidelines and instructions based on her academic experience, emphasizing the importance of achieving a balance between the academic and personal aspects of university life.
This seminar is part of a series of guidance and awareness activities organized by the College of Engineering at Al-Ayen Iraqi University, in support of first-year students, and in order to provide a stimulating educational environment and prepare students capable of keeping pace with the requirements of higher education.
