The Head of the Petroleum Engineering Department at the College of Engineering at Al-Ayen Iraqi University, Asst. Prof. Dr. Najeh Y. Ali participated in a specialized scientific workshop entitled:

"The Effects of Oil Pollution on the Environment and Climate and Its Relationship to Desertification." The workshop was held at the College of Education for Pure Sciences at Dhi Qar University and was attended by a number of academics and researchers.

During the workshop, the lecturer reviewed the negative environmental impacts of petroleun pollution, addressing the damage it causes to terrestrial and marine ecosystems. He also highlighted the relationship between petroleum activities, increased desertification, and the deterioration of soil and water quality.

In conclusion, Asst. Prof. Dr. Najeh Y. Ali emphasized the importance of addressing the problem of petroleum pollution, emphasizing the need to spread environmental awareness and enhance scientific cooperation between universities to achieve environmental sustainability.

This participation comes as part of the College of Engineering at Al-Ayen University's efforts to expand the frameworks of scientific cooperation and exchange of expertise on contemporary environmental and climate issues.
