The investor of the Al-Ayen Iraqi University Teaching Hospital, the consulting engineer Dr. Abdul Rahman Y. Awda, announced on Saturday, November 23, 2024, the imminent opening of the University Teaching Hospital in the city of Nasiriyah, which will make a difference and a qualitative shift in the health sector in the southern region.
He explained that "the hospital project is 100% ready as it was received from the Chinese company (Power China) with a capacity of 200 beds, ten major operating rooms, eight additional operating rooms for obstetrics and gynecology, and a large center for the Department of Cardiology and Catheterization Interventions equipped with the latest catheterization devices for the year 2024 from the international company Philips."
He added "the hospital contains the latest global version of AI and MRI devices with very high technology with 3 Tesla architecture, as well as very advanced modern devices for early detection of breast cancer and the departments of internal medicine, pediatrics, surgery and gynecology, all of which are equipped with high-precision technologies," stressing that "what we have been keen on since laying the foundation stone and to this day makes us believe in achieving our goal of giving birth to an educational health institution that makes a big and qualitative difference in the health sector, not only in Dhi Qar Governorate, but in the southern region and Iraq in general.
He explained that "our sons in the College of Medicine at Al-Ayen Iraqi University now have a high-level learning and training environment that befits the reputation of the university and the province, as they are students of the second college of medicine in Iraq and are striving with all their efforts to prepare distinguished doctors who enjoy high efficiency in practical training and keep pace with developments in the field of medicine at the local and global levels, in addition to providing distinguished and modern medical services to the people of the province.
