On Sunday, December 4, 2022, the Student Activities Department at Al-Ayen University, in cooperation with the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences and the Chess Sub-Federation in Dhi Qar Governorate, held a chess tournament for students of colleges and departments of the University.
The tournament was held in the student club hall of the university and participated by various colleges and departments of the university. Student Ali Saad Mahdi / College of Petroleum Engineering achieved first rank, Sajjad Hatem Mohammed /Department of Radiology and Ultrasound - College of Health and Medical Technologies achieved second rank, and Ali Amir Rafid / College of Dentistry achieved Third rank. In the for female students competitions, Tuqa Osama Nasser / Department of Radiology and Ultrasound - College of Health and Medical Technologies achieved first rank.
This tournament comes within the university's internal curriculum to be prepared for participation and compet for an advanced position in the tournament to be held by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Iraqi universities and colleges
