The College of Engineering at Al-Ayen Iraqi University organized aforestration campaign in several schools on Sunday, December 7, 2025. This initiative is part of the college's community outreach efforts aimed at promoting environmental awareness and fostering a culture of agriculture among students.
The campaign included Al-Farah Primary School for Orphans and Al-Siddiqah Secondary School for Girls. Faculty members and students participated in planting a variety of trees and plants in the schoolyards, aiming to improve the school environment and create a sustainable aesthetic.
The college team also delivered awareness lectures to students about the importance of tree planting and its role in reducing pollution and improving the local climate. These lectures also aimed to enhance students' environmental awareness and social responsibility.
This initiative is part of a series of activities undertaken by the College of Engineering to serve the local community, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 11, which focuses on creating sustainable communities and providing healthier and safer learning environments.
For their part, the school staff expressed their gratitude and appreciation to Al-Ayen University and the College of Engineering for this positive initiative, emphasizing that the campaign had a clear impact on the students and contributed to creating a more beautiful and sustainable learning environment.
