Under the patronage of the Al-Ayen University's Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Haider A. M. Al-Khafaji,
and under the direct supervision of the Deputy Chancellor for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Naseer A. H. Al-Quraishi,
and the Dean of the College of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Adnan T. Al-Khafaji,
the College of Medicine held an important awareness seminar entitled:
“Personal and Psychological Motives for Falling into the Danger of Addiction.”
The seminar was presented by:
• Dr. Mahmoud Mohammed Ahmed, Consultant Psychiatrist and Mental Health Specialist at Al-Ayen Teaching Hospital
• Prof. Dr. Mohammed J. Al-Nuaimi, Professor of Physiology at the College of Medicine, Al-Ain University, Iraq
The seminar was attended by Dr. Qasim Tarim, Consultant Surgeon and Director of Al-Ayen Teaching Hospital, and a group of faculty and students from the College of Medicine, Al-Ayen University, Iraq.
The seminar addressed the most significant psychological and personal factors that contribute to the risk of addiction, highlighting early prevention methods, promoting health awareness, and the role of academic institutions in protecting youth from this scourge.
This seminar is part of a series of activities aimed at disseminating health awareness and establishing a culture of combating drug abuse, in line with national efforts to reduce the spread of addiction.
