Under the patronage of the Chancellor of Al-Ayen Iraqi University Prof. Dr. Haider A. Marhoun, the Department of Radiology and Ultrasound Technology at the College of Health and Medical Technologies and the University's Continuing Education Center, in cooperation with the Dhi Qar Health Department, launched the Breast Cancer Challenge Month event.
The event included two educational lectures delivered by Dr. Basman Radhi Al-Kaabi, a subspecialty in internal radiology and catheterization, entitled "Early Diagnosis and Prevention Methods of Breast Diseases." The second lecture, "Procedures and Prevention Methods of Breast Cancer," was presented by Dr. Amna Abdul-Amir, a general surgery specialist.
The event also included the distribution of brochures and educational leaflets on the importance of self-examination and its role in early detection of the disease. The Chancellor of the University delivered a speech in which he affirmed the university's support for such awareness-raising activities that contribute to enhancing health awareness among the academic community.
The event was attended by the Dean of the College of Health and Medical Technologies Prof. Dr. Muhammad A. Al-Tahan, the Director of the Continuing Education Department, Asst. Lecturer Abdul-Rahman Al-Battat, and a number of faculty members and students.
