Under the patronage and attendance of the Governor of Holy Karbala, Engineer Nassif Jassim Al-Khattabi, the first Karbala Scholars Scientific Conference 2025 concluded. It was held at Al-Akhdir Palace in Holy Karbala Governorate.
The conference honored a number of distinguished academic figures. Among the winners of the Karbala Scholars Award was Asst. Prof. Dr. Haider A. Marhoon, Chancellor of Al-Ayen Iraqi University, in recognition of his scientific contributions and prominent role in supporting scientific research.
In his speech during the closing ceremony, the Governor of Karbala emphasized that the Karbala Strategy (2025-2030-2050), launched earlier this year, relied primarily on scientific research in the methodology of collecting and analyzing information and outlining this future vision.
Al-Ayen Iraqi University is one of the leading universities in adopting innovative research projects, supporting scientific publishing, and encouraging researchers to submit research that contributes to the development of vital sectors and serving the community. It is also the first university in Iraq to issue the first award to honor scientists and researchers.
