The Chancellor of Al-Ayen Iraqi University, Prof. Dr. Haider A. Marhoun sponsored the Student Activities Department's five-a-side football tournament for the university's students. This tournament is part of the sports activities aimed at promoting a spirit of competition and teamwork among students.
The tournament was attended by the Deputy Chancellor for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Naseer A. Hussein, the Director of the Academic Affairs Department Asst. Prof. Dr. Maitham T. Al-Mousawi, the Dean of the College of Law Ass. Prof. Dr. Khaled K. Odeh, the Dean of the College of Dentistry Asst. Prof. Dr. Ihsan A. Kamil, and the Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences Prof. Dr. Ahmed Abdul Aziz Obaid. The tournament was supervised by the Head of the Student Activities Department Asst. Dr. Maitham Adi, the Head of the Sports Activities Division, Asst. Lecturer Ali Khadir Zuwair and a number of university faculty members. The match witnessed an exciting encounter between the third - and fourth-year dental teams, which ended with the fourth-year team winning after resorting to penalty kicks.
This tournament is part of a series of student activities organized by Al-Ayen Iraqi University to support university sports and develop students' capabilities in a competitive environment that contributes to building a well-rounded university personality.
