The College of Engineering Technology, in cooperation with the College of Engineering, held a workshop entitled "The Social Development of Iraqi Women and Their Role in Boosting the Family." The workshop was presented by Asst. Lecturer Amal Jabbar Zgheir, with the participation of a number of faculty members and students.
The workshop addressed the pivotal role of Iraqi women in strengthening social construction and educating generations, in addition to their effective contributions to the stability and progress of society, as well as the challenges they face in light of contemporary social transformations.
This event aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal No. 5, which aims to achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls, Goal No. 4, which aims to ensure quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities, and Goal No. 16, which promotes peace, justice, and strong institutions by spreading community awareness and establishing a culture of constructive dialogue.
The workshop emphasized that the cooperation between the two colleges reflects a shared commitment to serving the community and promoting a culture of family responsibility, which contributes to consolidating the role of Iraqi universities in supporting sustainable development plans.
The workshop concluded with an open dialogue between the lecturer and participants, resulting in valuable discussions and constructive ideas that support the status of women and highlight their vital role in comprehensive development.
